It addresses the local and global need for such training expressed by students and researchers around the world, who wish to conduct rigorous scientific research on issues related to poverty, economic and human development.

This third edition offers, for the very first time, a component on linking macro and micro simulation models. This is essential to conducting distributive (poverty, inequality, etc.) analysis of the results of macro policy/shock simulations

The program offers three separate courses (it is possible to take one, two or all three courses)

  • June 3 - June 7, 2013 Development Policy Modeling

  • June 10 - June 14, 2013 Understanding the Macro-micro Linkages of Policy and Development

  • June 17 - June 21, 2013 Dynamic Impacts of Macroeconomic Policies ans Shocks



Target Audience

  • University students

  • Staff from the private and public sectors in search of advanced training on the economic analysis of development.

  • Students and staff of national governments and international organizations.

This includes CGE models, as well as original software and computer programs, such as the well-known Distributive Analysis/Analyse Distributive (DAD) software and the Stata-compatible Distributive Analysis for Stata Package (DASP).

Admission requirements

The courses will be taught in English, English language proficiency is thus required.
Teaching and material will be dispensed in English - although teaching staff are also proficient in French.
