As part of the implementation of the 3rd phase of the  PEP program, a devolution of the network's activities in Southern institutions has been opted for.   The PEP Africa office has been established and CRES chosen as the partner in charge of conducting the process of devolution of the network's activities in Africa.

The goal is to help create a critical mass of researchers capable of providing new  ideas in economic policy to African decision makers. In order to address the challenges facing African economies, members of PEP Africa will promote useful and relevant research adapted to the concerns of decision makers, and likely to help policy-makers , local authorities and civil society organizations in the formulation and implementation of policies against poverty. To materialize its research vision, PEP Africa brings its wealth of experience inherited from MIMAP and PEP International in microeconomic analysis of poverty and inequality, and the use of modeling tools in computable general equilibrium.
